In our museum area you can see Germany's largest collection of light railways featuring the rare narrow gauge size of 500 mm. Our smallest loco is a "Schienen-Kuli" (Rail Servant) with only 2,7 hp, our biggest machine boasts 65 hp, weighing 14 (metric) tons! The museum's goal is the conservation, restauration and actual use of original light railway locomotives, cars, track segments, machines and devices. It is our main intention to preserve an interesting chapter in the history of transport, which by now has almost been forgotten due to the victorious, ever-present motor truck. |

During the last years, we managed to gain a huge collection of vehicles and to build a large track layout. On an oval track route we can show you numerous vehicles in action, originating from Germany (also from the former German Democratic Republic), Austria, Switzerland, The Nederlands, The Czech Republic, Poland and Russia. Furthermore, we are able to demonstrate the ways of laying tracks and the original methods of loading and unloading. |
